Top Prop Firms for Canadian Traders (2026)

Canadian traders are accepted by 84 of the 90 prop firms we cover. The top pick for them is FundingPips, at 4.3/5 on our Canada score. Its benchmark is a $100K 2-step account (Pro - Challenges) at $466: a 6% / 6% target, a 3% daily cap, a 6% static max loss and an 80% split. In CAD, that price comes to roughly 661. Behind it come FundedNext, The5ers and Lucid Trading. 6 firms mark Canada as restricted.

By Editorial teamListing data refreshed List prices, no promo codes

Some firms restrict a single province, such as Quebec or British Columbia, instead of all of Canada.

For challenge fees, Credit/Debit Card, Crypto and Apple Pay are the routes these firms support most. We found no fee method specific to Canada.

Method: Firms qualify unless they list Canada as restricted. Our Canada score reuses the global formula but rates country access by how well each firm's payment and payout options serve Canadian traders. No firm with an open warning makes the picks. We quote official list prices with no promo codes and add any fee you pay after passing.

Firm popularity: Monthly Google searches for the firm's name across all countries, from Ahrefs keyword data (sub-brands carry their parent company's number). It shows the firm is known and in real use rather than a fly-by-night, but tells you nothing about its rules or payouts.

Paying and withdrawing from Canada: local methods

None of these firms lists a payment method specific to Canada, so traders there mostly use Credit/Debit Card, Crypto and Apple Pay.

Only methods specific to Canada count here (Interac). Global methods such as cards, crypto, e-wallets and international wires are left out of this table.

Converted at 1.418 CAD to the dollar (ECB reference rate of September 29, 2026). Expect your bank to use a slightly different rate.

Buying a funded account from Canada: what to weigh

Traders in Canada have 84 of the 90 prop firms we track open to them. FundingPips heads our Canadian ranking at 4.3/5. The median $100K forex evaluation costs $570, or roughly 808 CAD once you convert at 1.418 CAD per US dollar. The fine print, though, matters as much as the headline.

Look up your province before your country

The 6 firms that restrict Canada outright include V Prop Trader, Atmos Funded and Equity Edge. Some firms draw the line at an individual province rather than at the national border, Quebec or British Columbia for instance. So when a firm's terms say it accepts Canada, keep reading until you find the list of excluded regions, and check it against the address on your ID. Finding out at verification, after paying and passing, is the expensive way to learn.

You already live on the right clock

If you trade from Toronto or Montreal, the New York stock open lands at 09:30 your time, exactly as it does on Wall Street, because you share Eastern Time. London opens at about 03:00 ET, which is a fair argument for leaving the European session to people who are awake for it. Traders in Vancouver work three hours earlier: the opening bell rings at 06:30, and the most active part of the day is over by lunch. Either way, the liquid hours of US indices and dollar pairs fit a normal day, which helps when one tired session can end an evaluation.

That clock also makes futures a natural fit. 30 of the firms open to you run futures programs, next to 49 with forex and 14 with crypto. Futures accounts can also be billed differently from forex challenges: 25% of futures programs renew as a subscription every month, which means a slow pass keeps billing you. Budget for the months, not only the first charge.

The loonie math

Prices are quoted in US dollars, so every fee arrives with a conversion attached. Our median one-time prices, including pass fees, are $99 for a $10K account (about 140 CAD), $349 at $50K (495 CAD) and $570 at the $100K level. FundedHive, at $9, is the cheapest option in our data. A low sticker price is not the same as good value, so work out what each $10K of simulated capital costs before you compare. Then check whether the firm charges to activate the account once you pass; 6% of forex challenges do.

Checkout itself should rarely be a wall. Of the firms open to Canadians, 81 will charge a card, 72 will take crypto and 53 an e-wallet, while no firm here takes a method specific to Canada for the fee. Profits can come home as crypto from 62 firms, through Rise from 53 or as a bank wire from 38; 53 settle funded payouts weekly or faster.

Rules that decide whether you keep the account

Then comes the rulebook. 56 firms use a static drawdown, which stays fixed relative to where you started; a trailing drawdown rises with your equity peak and is harder on traders who let winners run and then give some back. Expect a daily loss limit, since the 10% of programs that run without one are the exception, and size your positions for it. Bots are welcome at the 59 firms that allow expert advisors, and news traders can choose among 77 that permit trading the releases. The most widespread platforms are MT5 (44 firms), Match Trader (27 firms) and cTrader (25 firms). And if you would rather not sit an evaluation, instant funding is sold by 54 firms.

Behind FundingPips, our Canadian ranking lists FundedNext and The5ers in second and third. Compare them in the table above on your own priorities.

One last framing point. What you pay for is a simulated evaluation with a price tag, not an investment, and the money you receive from a firm is treated for tax purposes under Canadian rules that we are not qualified to interpret. Talk to a tax professional before your first payout, not after.

Regulators and tax in Canada

Here is what regulators and the tax office in Canada have published. Most of it targets brokers: a prop firm challenge is a paid evaluation, not a trading account with a broker.

Regulators
Canadian Investment Regulatory Organization (CIRO), Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA), Ontario Securities Commission (OSC)
Retail forex and CFDs
The CSA says forex trading is regulated as trading in a security or derivative under provincial legislation. Firms offering forex trading must be registered in the province where they operate and must join CIRO. Source: securities-administrators.ca
Prop firm challenges
On August 29, 2023 the Ontario Securities Commission obtained a temporary order halting trading by prop firm Traders Global Group (My Forex Funds), citing possible unregistered trading and fraud. The Capital Markets Tribunal last extended it on July 18, 2024, for at most three months, and lists no later order. In December 2025 the Ontario Superior Court of Justice let the firm regain most of its frozen funds.
